Peterborough is an ideal candidate for UK City of Culture 2029.
We're campaigning for our city to join the bidding process launched by the government's Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
Our campaign has put together a proposal asking Peterborough City Council to explore this unique opportunity for culture to play a transformative role in the city’s future.
Our proposal is rooted in Peterborough’s unique story as a historic city shaped by migration, making, faith and renewal.
If successful, "Peterborough 2029" could bring together communities, artists, organisations and partners to co-create a year-long cultural programme that reflects who we are today and who we want to become.
